This home in Chatham, NJ was purchased by our client for its location on the private, wooded, prime location lot. The spaces within the home somewhat suited their needs but also had potential. Renovations included converting and modifying the existing enclosed unheated front porch entrance with new windows and finishes, and converting it to a conditioned ‘cigar room’ with a smoke removal system. The front entrance was relocated and accessed from the new covered front porch. New red cedar siding with maintenance-free white custom-designed trim transformed the front and other sides of the home. A new entrance walk and landscaping beds were also designed. A rear and side addition was added to provide a new master bedroom suite with his and hers walk-in-closets and master bathroom. A new rear deck with pergola was designed with direct access from the master suite by French doors. This bedroom also was designed with a tray ceiling and skylight as the clients enjoyed walking up early to natural daylight. Interior molding was also designed for many of the rooms including the Dining Room with coffered ceiling and wainscoting.
