Basking Ridge Shingle Style Home

This custom home will be built on several acres in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. The property possesses several interesting features such as a 100-year-old two-story barn, a pond, and wooded areas. Design took form so that the client could always appreciate these features from the inside and outside spaces of the house. The orientation of the sun and how light would enter the home at different points in time was also taken into account.

The first floor layout was designed with the client’s love of entertaining and frequent family gatherings.

Upon entering the front door in the foyer, the grand staircase leads to the second floor bedrooms. Directly ahead of the foyer is the two-story family room open to the upstairs balcony above. The large gourmet kitchen flows between the family room, glass-surrounded breakfast room, and large dining room which easily sits twelve.

This was a gratifying project to design, working closely with the client, fulfilling the vision of their forever home!
