The Clients purchased an older 28’ wide house on a narrow lot three houses in from the ocean and beach. They wanted a new summer beach house designed to sit on the foundation of the existing house. The new home consists of a basement with a game room/theater plus three upper floors. On the ground level are bedrooms and an entry foyer; the living spaces are located on the second level to take advantage of the ocean view and include living, dining, and kitchen spaces designed with an open floor plan articulated by ceiling changes; a master suite is located on the third level.

The windowed 2-story “turret” welcomes natural light to flow throughout the second level open floor plan living spaces. A multi-platform open staircase connects all levels. The driveway includes a pergola car port and access to a one car garage and rear yard pool.

After enjoying this summer home for several seasons, our client said they wanted to paint the home and asked us to present color selections as well as any design ideas we thought may “freshen up” the house. We prepared this video presentation with a new exterior color pallet, new railings, new trim, and a 3rd-floor balcony pergola to provide some sun protection.
