Expanding into the construction sector, our company purchased this house to allow us to be Architect, Client, Interior Designer, and Contractor. Located on almost 2 acres of wooded land in a desirable area, very little of the original 1,500 square foot house was saved with the exception of most of the foundation and some of the wood framing.

Our intent was to also utilize the existing 2 car garage walls and foundation, however, after investigating what appeared to be an innocent crack in the wall, we discovered there was no foundation under the garage walls. A large addition was designed, most of the existing roof was removed and a new steeper roof was designed with a volume ceiling in the living spaces, and a custom-designed “truss” was included for both structural purposes and as a design feature.

The truss was field built with locally milled and field finished wood. The completed home consists of 3,200 square feet of living area and includes a large open kitchen/gathering/dining space, large master suite with 2 separate room size walk-in-closets, 3 additional bedrooms, lower level entertainment space, 5-zone HVAC systems, and a 3-car garage.
